Todd Monken Arrives in Cleveland: Reunion with Shedeur Sanders & Browns Future! (2026)

In a significant move for the franchise, Todd Monken has officially landed in Cleveland as the new head coach of the Browns, where he received a warm welcome from quarterback Shedeur Sanders at the team’s Berea headquarters.

BEREA, Ohio — The excitement is palpable as Todd Monken, the newly appointed head coach of the Cleveland Browns, touched down in Cleveland on Friday. He wasted no time getting to work at the team’s CrossCountry Mortgage Campus in Berea.

The Browns took to social media, sharing captivating images and videos that captured the moment the 59-year-old Monken disembarked from his flight at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and arrived at the facility. Among those present to greet him were General Manager Andrew Berry, managing partner JW Johnson, and quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

During their initial meeting, Monken humorously recalled a past draft situation, saying, "Hey, we tried to draft your ass last year for God's sake," referencing his previous role as the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. This light-hearted exchange brought laughter between the two before Monken invited Sanders to join him in his new office for further discussions.

Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam expressed their enthusiasm in a statement, saying, "We are thrilled to introduce Todd Monken as the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Todd possesses a remarkable intellect, and his innovative and experienced approach to offensive strategy has been pivotal in developing productive and successful teams at both the NFL and college levels over the past two decades. He is not only an exceptional leader but also has a vision to guide our team effectively through strong communication, fostering trust among his players while emphasizing accountability and preparation."

Although the team has yet to set a date for Monken's introductory press conference, anticipation continues to build around his plans for the upcoming season.

Interestingly, Monken has prior experience with the Browns, having served as their offensive coordinator in 2019. However, it is worth noting that during that one-season stint, he did not call plays, as those responsibilities were managed by head coach Freddie Kitchens, who, along with most of his staff, was let go after a tumultuous year.
